247,000

The Camry hit 247,000 miles this week. It could have blown up, but didn't. Nevertheless it took me to work safely and promptly.

To celebrate I went through the drive-thru at the local MacDonalds. Since the drivers side window does not roll down. I pushed my seat all the way back and down. I lowered the rear driver-side window to pay for, and collect my Egg McMuffin.

California (to be sung like the theme song of The OC)

Last weekend we were able to go to Bakersfield for Farrah's baptism. There was a slight snaffu with the rental car company in Santa Monica--but we made it to B-Field in time to change and get to the church without feeling rush. Reza was able to baptize Farrah and they both did a wonderful job. It was great to see how excited Farrah was to be baptized, and I am excited for her. Reza was also able to confirm her as well and it was a sweet experience for all involved.

We went to church at the ward Reza grew up in and it was fun to see all the people that love Reza and watched him grow up. They were excited to see him again. (The last time we were in Bakersfield was before we were even engaged!)

We also got to meet my Grandma for lunch, and go to Santa Monica to visit the beach as well as spend a day with the Joneses.

Farrah and I decided we were only going to put our big toes in the water--only 1 of us kept that promise. Reza is being a good uncle and taking her out in the waves--yes she is in her clothes.


Andrea and Spencer Jones---Anna is in the stroller. They live in Santa Monica and were nice enough to let us use their aerobed for a night.

Thank you to those who made comments about Christy's Hair... I fully support the Red.


So I was over at the Wal-Mart in Grove City. In a rush, I had three items to purchase. I got in the 20 Items or less lane. In front of me was a very large Women in one of those motorized carts... Selfishly I thought this lady is going to take forever to unload her cart and check out... I should help her. So I asked if I could help her. I proceeded to unload the basket on the cart. Not only did she have more than 20 Items, she had 3 cases of soda! Three! She told me that she wore her self out getting them from the shelf to her cart, then she pulled another case that she had by her feet. Obviously it did not fit in her basket. (not to mention she bought a dozen eggs and two quarts of fake egg whites?, diet frozen dinners?, pink slippers?)

After she checked out, I loaded her groceries back into the cart. I asked her if she needed help putting these in her car. She kindly thanked me and said her husband was waiting for her in the car.

So at what point could I have said: You would be better off to lose some weight? Isn't sad that shopping puts a strain on her.

Second story. There is a small family run diner by my office; it is straight out of an 8o's roadhouse movie. Complete with a jukebox and a cigarette vending machine (yeah-I thought they were banned too) . It has fantastic food. Friendly service. The cook can often be seen wearing camo pants. So after lunch last week, I watch the cook behind the diner, slamming a 24oz Busch lite beer.

Should I say anything? Would you frequent an establishment like this?

Do red heads have more fun?

So I am boring and I have never dyed my hair (I don't think dying it with semi-permanent dye that washed out while a freshman really counts). I recently saw Confessions of a Shopaholic and was in love with the long flowing red hair of Rebecca Bloomwood. Luckily I saw the movie with my friend and hair stylist Mallory and she reminded me what Ms. Bloomwood had lots of extensions, but she also said red hair could be possible. So should I do it?
