It's easier just to put everything in the bathtub after dinner.

Pitching a tent with a one year old.
Give him something to help with.
We went on our first Fathers and Son's camp out--it was also his first night spent away from his mother. We camped at the Foulger-Pratt Farm, at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain, MD. A very idyllic setting, nice weather, and great company. Hal loved being around the fire and wanted to chase down the flying embers. I let Hal stay up really late (11:30pm), play in the barn, put graham crackers in the fire, and crawl around the grass.
The Young Men called this horse "Gaga" because it had Lady Gaga Hair. This Horse makes me think about Nic.

Oops
This is what happens when a bag of jelly beans gets left on the table and I am in the middle of making meatballs. He's a bit taller/more determined then I thought.

Jimmer-riffic
Our favorite guy turned 32! We celebrated by throwing him a "Jimmer-Jam-Jersey-Jock" Party/BBQ. We are sure glad he is in our life!

Wilbur
So for those of you who don't know, I co-teach 1st grade. Three of my students have a hearing loss. One of them is Jewish, and struggles the most to pay attention and process information/make connections etc.
We read chapter 7 of Charlotte's Web today. It's titled "Bad News", this is when the old sheep breaks the news to Wilbur that he is being raised to be killed and eaten at Christmas time. I was checking in with my student mentioned above to make sure she was following the story. She said "They are going to kill him because they want to eat him." Then she paused and said "...but Wilbur is not kosher."
It made my day.
