My adventure began having dinner with my former roommates (Clinton, Mark, Yasser and Lance with his wifey Megan. We had dinner at Settebello Pizzeria Napoletana. I found the pizza to be tasty and the portions to be plentiful.

The Pinnacle Apex of the trip was to compete in the Burley Spduman Triathlon for the second consecutive year. I improved my times in all three disciplines and overall time from last year. I finished solidly in the top 20% of my division.

I was not alone in this 1500++ other triathletes competed in this event, along with two of my closest friends-Nic and Natalie Hudson. We traveled, camped, and did Spudman together. For their thoughts on the weekend please use the link off to the side to their blog.

Roller Coaster Nation

We spent last Saturday at Cedar Point. It's a pretty well-known amusement park up on the shores of Lake Erie. Reza and I took my little brother Tanner, and his best buddy Drew. They were troopers! It was actually Drew's first time on a roller coaster. It was pretty crowded and we spent some time standing in lines, but it was such a great time! While we were standing in line Reza whipped out his blueberry and did some research on roller coasters. There are a lot of random lists out there for top 10 roller coasters such as this one. Basically all the lists I looked at include the Millennium Force and the Top Speed Dragster. They also have a new ride called the Maverick that was voted the best new ride of 2007, and it was amazing! All in all we had a great time, and all made it home alive. The Dragster goes 120 miles an hour and up to over 400 feet. It's insane! And the Millennium Force at one point was the highest roller coaster. While the rides never fail to disappoint here are the few things that were less then great about Cedar Point:

1) No food vendor was prepared ahead. We hit up 3 different lines for 3 different things at 3 different times and each time they ran out of food, and were SOOOO slow.
2) After paying about 40 bucks to get in the park, and another 10 to park---several of the roller coasters required you to pay yet another dollar to put your bag in a locker because there was no storage areas near the entrance/exit of the coaster. Give me a free locker!
3) The park apparently is shaped like an oval, however the paths and maps are not well marked which led to lots of extraneous walking.

Red River Gorge Vol. 1

300 Million year old sandstone meets Forrest moon of Endore. That is how I would describe the red river gorge in Kentucky; Seriously it was gorgeous. I met up with some friends for the weekend to Climb and Hike.

Tagged...forever ago

My sister tagged me with the "5 favorite pictures" tag. Unfortunately, I only have the last year of pictures on this computer so it's my 5 favorites from the last year. Luckily, it was a pretty exciting year!

This is the trip we took to Moab last Memorial day. It also happens to be the weekend I decided that this boy wasn't going to be leaving my life anytime soon. Those expressions also happen to appear in far too many of our pictures.

After a long summer apart, and a very long drive across the country I finally got Reza at one of my favorite spots on earth. The Ohio Stadium! We were lucky enough to attend 3 games last season, and he is almost as excited as I am for season tickets this season! Reza has done a great job embracing all things Ohio State, and wears his Ohio State gear at all the right times.
Speaking of favorite places, Reza proposed to me on Dec. 8th, 2007 in front of the Ohio Stadium. But not after he took me out to eat at a very fancy steak restaurant. I love steak, the stadium, and Reza.

Little known fact about the Frost family: We can all touch our nose with our tongue. It's a great party trick, and I love that my parents busted it out at my wedding.

A weekend of fireworks!

First of all, the 4th of July is my FAVORITE holiday. I love celebrating this country that has made my wonderful life so possible. When I think about all of the little things that had to come together for the United States to become the country that it is, I am so aware of the Hand of God in my life, and in the lives of the men who established this country. There are so many blessings in my life because I am an American. Most importantly I have always been able to choose how I worship and who I worship. I am grateful that I have been able to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and that I can worship Jesus Christ as my Savior without threat of persecution. I also happen to love fireworks, parades, BBQ's and long weekends--all fabulous Independence Day traditions. That being said, Columbus throws a sick 4th of July party. On July 3rd is the annual Red, White and Boom. Approximately 3/4 of a million people head downtown for a parade, food, concerts and most importantly fireworks. Reza and I ventured downtown and found a great spot right on the river!
That is Reza's shirt he got when the World Cup was in the US (he was a freshman in High School). He also attended the USA v. Brazil game during that World Cup.

Reza and I hosted a "Fiesta on the Fifth"! Reza made wonderful carne asada tacos, I made sweet pork, and we had grilled chicken as well. We had a great turnout and wonderful food!

My high school friends/spouses (Steve, Molly, Seth and Megan) who live in Columbus came by as well. It's a shame we don't all see each other more!
Our neighbor Chris put up a slack line/tight rope between the electrical poles in our backyard. This is about as successful as Reza got :)
