Photo: COURTNEY HERGESHEIMER DISPATCH.COMYesterday coach Jim Tressell rode an indy car down Kenny Rd. to the OSU golf course. Under police escort of course. A perk of being the coach at Ohio St. Courtesy of the Rahal family.
This prompted a discussion on local sports radio: "What cool sports related things (attainable sports dreams) would an average person do?" (if given the resources). Chris Spielman said he would caddie for Tiger. I would also like to caddie for Tiger! I thought about what my wish list would be:
- Take batting practice at Dodger Stadium
- Play HORSE with Shaq. No dunking allowed, duh
- Drive a NASCAR at Talledega
- Sing "Take me out to the Ball Game" at Wrigley
- Skydive onto the field with the game ball for a BYU Football game
- Ironman Hawaii
- Ring the starting bell at the NYSE (not sports related, but still would be really cool)
- Swim Laps with Michael Phelps
- Go on a ride with Lance Armstrong
Feel free to leave your comments on what you would like to do.
The last on my list will come to pass this August, I will get to ride with Lance! I will be riding in Pelotonia, a grass roots bike tour with one goal: to end cancer. Pelotonia raises money for innovative and life saving cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center- James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. Driven by the passion of its cyclists and volunteers, and their family and friends, Pelotonia's annual cycling experience will be a place of hope, energy and determination. Leveraging Netjets' transformational gift, Pelotonia directs 100% of every dollar raised to research.
