I have spent the day holed up in my little townhouse on this very cold day watching the NBC coverage of today's events. I did not vote for Obama, and I don't agree with many of his politics and policy's. I have, however, been moved to tears several times today.
I am very grateful to live in a country where my vote counts, and the transfer of power is peaceful.
While it never occurred to me a black person could not be president, I am grateful for the hope he has given African-Americans (especially African-American children) that change is possible, and that they can be anything they want.
I am grateful that I will be able to tell me children about this day and that they hopefully will know a better, more equal future then I know.
PS I am not grateful for Michelle's green gloves and teal shoes. I don't really get it.

yeah did you check out Obamas tie and his scarf...seriously red and maroon!!! Our First Family has a lot to learn... Miss you!
A comment from your newest follower--Neal and I are grateful that if Obama is going to be president, he is president while we are poor. I am also grateful that we inaugurated our first black president rather than our first woman president. (try two--I hate spelling)
Yes, but I was grateful for Aretha's hat. Loved it!
