Go Cougs

Over Labor Day weekend we took a whirlwind trip to Utah to watch BYU play Washington for their season opener. We also got to see our friends the Derr's, Hudson's, my brother Jacob, my Aunt/Uncle/Cousin and the Magleby's. We started the trip by leaving our home at 4 a.m. Saturday morning, and concluded it by walking back in our front door at midnight Monday. Hal was a TROOPER! The Cougar's won, and we got to eat Cafe Rio. Not a bad weekend. It was the first time I had been back since I graduated 3.5 years ago, I missed Provo and forgot how amazing it is to live right next to the mountains.

I mean HONESTLY! Look at that face. It's killing me. We went to the Nationals vs. Cardinals game on Saturday with Todd and Elaine. Yes, I know he is wearing a Phillie's outfit, but it's the only baseball thing he has, and he was going to out grow it and it game with a sweatband. (Thanks Hayley!)

My mom made Hal his wonderful "Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?" quilt. It has all of the animals and the children in it. He also really like playing with his own brown bear and talks up a storm to it!

Lucky for me Claire (a friend since 6th grade) just moved to DC to do her residency at National Children's. We live down the street from each other and we get to see her about once a month! We love it.

Hal's "California Grandma" and "Oldest-older cousin" (self-named titles) came to visit for a week. Farrah was a fabulous cousin. My favorite thing about them visiting was listening to Farrah talk to Hal---especially when we were in the car. She was so sweet with him, and a great little babysitter when I took a shower or ran across the street to the grocery store. We were quite busy the whole week---we spent a day at Rehoboth/Dewey Beach, DE, a day at Mount Vernon, saw Ramona & Beezus and played at Clemyjontri Park. It would have been perfect if it hadn't been so blasted HOT everyday!
